Feel free to use any fruit you like or what is in season.

Ingredients

  • 1 apple

  • 2 bananas

  • 8 large strawberries

  • 100 g white chocolate

  • 100 g milk chocolate

  • 4 wooden kebab sticks

  • 4 tbsp of hundreds and thousands

Method

  • Step 1

    Peel the apple and cut into quarters. Slice out middle of each quarter (pips and core). Chop each quarter into half so you have eight pieces of apple.

  • Step 2

    Wash strawberries and take off green stalks.

  • Step 3

    Peel bananas and cut each banana into four pieces.

  • Step 4

    Assemble the kebabs by piercing the pointy end of the wooden kebab stick through the middle of the apple and sliding it along towards the end.

  • Step 5

    Repeat with strawberry and then banana. Repeat again with apple, strawberry and banana so you have two pieces of each type of fruit on the stick.

  • Step 6

    You are now ready to melt the chocolate! Unwrap the milk chocolate and place it in a Ziploc bag. Using a rolling pin, smash the chocolate into little pieces. (Quite satisfying, really!)

  • Step 7

    Repeat process with white chocolate, using a different Ziploc bag.

  • Step 8

    Place the milk and white chocolate in separate bowls.

  • Step 9

    Place two pans of water on the heat, and place each bowl so it sits on top of the pan and the water in the pan is not touching the bottom of the bowl.

  • Step 10

    Bring the water in the pan up to a boil and then turn it down to simmer. Watch your chocolate melt! You can stir the chocolate a little if you like.

  • Step 11

    Bring your artistic skills to the table! Place the fruit kebabs on a plate and, using a tablespoon, drizzle the milk chocolate over. Leave it for a minute, then repeat with white chocolate. Sprinkle with hundreds and thousands and serve them up to your adoring family and fans!
